Pizzabacken

This is a perfect, simple and easy kitchen experience that will bring the family together to share a meal.
It’s the ultimate food experience that will entice children, teenagers and adults alike.

We have a number of different activities that will get kids into the kitchen and making their own pizza.

Our Myths & Heroes tour is a fantastic way to learn about Rome’s culture and history, while our Pizzamaking in the cosy kitchen of a Pizzeria and treasure hunt in Villa Borghese are both super trips that are fun for the whole family.

The best part is that these experiences are very affordable!

For example, our pizza making activity is included in our Roman Adventures package, which we offer to families that are staying with us at the IT Club.

You can also book our Pizzabacken experience as a private event for you and your family, or for a group of friends!

We have a range of different wood types that we use to make our Pizzabacken, so there is sure to be one that is suitable for you.

Using the right firewood is important to create the optimum conditions for your Pizza backen.

Our favourite firewood is a natural juniper log from Portugal, but there are other excellent options too.

The most important thing to remember about your wood is that it needs to be very dense and heavy so that it can heat up quickly.

It’s best to choose wood that has been seasoned for a couple of days.

Once you have your wood, prepare the pizza ingredients and let it sit for about 2 hours in a warm place before you begin to cook the pizza.

This will allow the ingredients to start cooking and creating that delicious neapolitan crust. After that, you simply need to place the dough on a baking tray and pop it in the oven at around 180degC until it is cooked.
